Buy Nothing Project Nail Polish Haul

OPI My Vampire is Buff mini bottle, Avon True Color Nail Enamel Rose Quartz bottle, and OPI Can’t Find My Czechbook mini bottle on black marble background

The Buy Nothing Project is a worldwide community of local groups dedicated to creating a space for neighbors who want to give freely to neighbors.

They believe that local social networks have a web of abundance and are full of wealth.

You can find a local Buy Nothing Group on Facebook. Simply search Buy Nothing and your region in the Groups section. If there is one in your area, apply to join.

To get in, you have to provide the cross streets where you live to verify you are in the neighborhood the group covers and then the admins approve you.

When inside a group, neighbors, including you, can post things they are giving away for free. It can be pre-owned, new or any condition in between.

You can also post things you are looking for, these are called asks. Givers of that item, if they are present, will comment on your post with what they have.

If you desire an item offered (Buy Nothing makes no distinction between needs and wants, all desires are valid), you comment on the post, and the giver will respond.

If you are the recipient, you often go pick it up at a time and place you both arrange privately - often the giver’s front porch.

Buy Nothing Groups range in how active they are in each area and with what objects givers are giving throughout the year - though in the neighborhood where this site is based, they give nail polish.

When you are looking for nail polish, there is no price better than free.

The nail polish available in Buy Nothing Groups ranges from new, unopened, to pre-owned and used a few times, to vintage and very well loved.

So you do have to have an open mind when receiving nail polish for free, but when it comes to nail polish, our minds are always open so that’s not an issue.

Recently, we received some free nail polish from our local Buy Nothing Group and shades are -

OPI My Vampire is Buff, a light beige neutral color

Avon True Color Pro Enamel Rose Quartz, a light champagne gold color

OPI Can’t Find My Czechbook, a bright light blue color

To continue the journey of giving freely and for your considering purposes, the swatches of these shades are below:

OPI My Vampire is Buff swatch, a light beige neutral nail polish, with OPI mini bottle in rear

OPI My Vampire is Buff (NLE82) is a pale, neutral creme shade from the Euro Centrale Collection released in 2013. This light, warm, beige-white polish is opaque at three coats.

In the above OPI My Vampire is Buff swatch, three coats were used and it was photographed in natural lighting aimed to mimic sunlight.

Avon True Color Pro Enamel Rose Quartz swatch, a champagne gold nail polish, with Avon bottle in rear

This Avon True Color Pro Nail Enamel Rose Quartz was swatched in two coats and it wears luxuriously on the hand. It is very easy, almost effortless, to apply.

While it is called Rose Quartz, it is really more of a fine champagne yellow gold pearl color. It is still sheer at two coats, but it builds coverage as you layer it, if you want fuller coverage.

OPI Can’t Find My Czechbook swatch, a bright blue nail polish with mini OPI bottle in background

Can’t Find My Czechbook (NLE75) is a fun shade that is shown in three coats.

It’s another from the Euro Centrale Collection released in 2013. You could describe it as a clean, crisp bright blue - it is very spring.

So there you have it - three swatches of some gorgeous nail polish given to us by our neighbors.
