lots of lux 3023 is a shimmering lapis lazuli with a superfine matte finish. It’s a royal blue chunky glitter that anyone would classify as a textured polish.
Chunky glitters tend to be textured polishes.
Textured polishes do not lay flat on the surface of the nail and when you run your fingers over the finish when dry, you will feel more of a cobblestone to sandy texture than a glass texture as with shine-finish polishes.
If you choose nail polishes based on how they feel when you run your fingers over them, keep this in mind, because this polish can add some diversity to your collection.
This polish is from the 2013 essie holiday collection and it was a seasonal release polish, meaning the manufacturer does not continue to produce it. That doesn’t mean you can’t still find it on the second hand market though!

essie lots of lux is a one-coat wonder, which makes it a bit of a unicorn in polish land. You can get away with using a single coat easily - meaning your rare polish will last all the longer.
That said, the swatches you see in this post were done with two-coats just to see how much richer the color would become with a second layer.
It applies so easily, and very smoothly. There is not a lot of working with the polish required to get your nails to look like royalty using lots of lux.
It dries quickly, and gives the nails an iron-clad feel.
To illustrate how quickly it dries - this is one of those polishes you can paint on your nails within an hour of bedtime, fall asleep, and it’s not smudged when you wake up in the morning.
So many polishes you can’t use in your night-time relaxation routine due to their long-term setting requirements, you will wake up with imprints of your sheets in the paint, but this one you can, because it dries that quick.
This is just one of the reasons this rare polish is one to love. The other is how beautiful it looks in the sun.
While lots of lux was originally a holiday release, a deep, royal blue is a good choice anytime you want to add a regal or dramatic touch to your week.
