In this post you’re going to see swatches of one of the cutest pastel pink nail colors - OPI Mod About You.

I’ve tried a lot of pastel pink nail colors and most of them leave something to be desired. They can be chalky, thick, difficult to apply and potentially need 3 or more coats.

But not this one - this pastel pink is a winner and below you’ll learn more about shade’s history plus application techniques.

According to The Polish Garden, OPI’s Mod About You first appeared in a 2006 summer collection called Brighter by the Dozen.

It was re-released in a couple of collections after that and today it is on OPI’s Classics list.

Among the ranks of Gelato on My Mind and Tiramisu for Two, OPI defines this color as a “mod-ern light pink nail polish” that offers a soft pink pastel creme finish.

One of the best parts about OPI Mod About You is that it is a light, pastel pink that can provide even, full coverage in as little as two coats.

Many light pink nail polishes require three and even four coats for full, even coverage.

The fact that Mod About You is a vibrant, pastel light pink that gives a quality color pay off in two coats of color, is one of the reasons why this shade is so iconic.

On a mass market level, you can find Mod About You in a variety of formula types. It's shown in the now discontinued Infinite Shine formula, and the closest match would be the standard lacquer formula.

As a color, Mod About You is a definite early spring to early summer pink. It is the type of shade that you can wear for Valentine’s Day, Easter and to the variety of outdoor gatherings people have at the beginning of the warm-weather season.

To get the best results with this color:

Apply Mod About You parallel to the nail in “feather-like” strokes, do not push down too hard with the brush, overwork it or apply with the brush at a 45 degree angle, which can create brush stroke lines.

If you miss “a spot,” while it is still wet, dot on the extra color in the locations where it is thin. Give it plenty of time to dry between coats.

If you pick up the press-on version of Mod About You: use more glue per nail than you think you need.

Add the glue to the top center of your nail and the top center of the press on back, gently lower onto the nail at a 45 degree angle and hold until it dries - usually about 45-60 seconds. Work one nail at a time and do your thumbs last.

If picking up the dip powder: make sure your base coat is even before starting to dip, it will prevent ridges and make filing easier at the end. After dipping, saturate the nail with the activator to assure it cures completely.

All in all, this is a lovely pastel pink nail color that can brighten up any day. I personally prefer it in the cooler months, around Valentine’s Day and spring, but you can wear it anytime you need a pop of pink.
