Why I Use ShopMy to Monetize My Blog as a Creator

This post contains affiliate links, which means I may earn a commission if you make a purchase — at no extra cost to you.

ShopMy is an influencer marketing and affiliate platform that connects shoppers, brands, and content creators to products we already love.

There are thousands of users on the platform, including myself, and by the end of this post, perhaps you will be one too!

To put it specifically, ShopMy’s network includes 175,000 creators and over 1,000 brand partners. Together, ShopMy, its creators and brands move around $80 million per month in product.

What I personally love about ShopMy as a creator is how much it offers in one place.

You can easily create affiliate links, build digital shopping pages and receive offers for additional promotional opportunities through their brand partnerships portal, where brands can message you directly for collaborations.

The platform focuses specifically on lifestyle, fashion and beauty brands, making it a great fit for creators who want to earn more by sharing their experiences, expert reviews, and product recommendations.

As a nail blogger, I especially appreciate that ShopMy works with brands like Ulta, Manucurist, Glamnetic, Londontown, Ella + Mila, Nails Inc., Orly Beauty, Sephora, Nordstrom, and many more.

How To Make Money with ShopMy

1 - Apply and get accepted

Compared to other popular affiliate platforms like LTK, which is known for having stricter acceptance requirements, ShopMy is more accessible.

They evaluate creators based on digital profiles such as Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Substack and your website or any other relevant links you provide.

Follower count is only one factor, so creators with newer accounts or smaller audiences can still get accepted and start monetizing early.

2 - Build your MyShop Webpage

Your MyShop page is a curated webpage hosted by ShopMy that features all of your affiliate links along with your social media posts that include ShopMy products.

One of my favorite features is the Most Popular section, which shows which products your audience is engaging with the most. This makes it easy to create more content around what’s already working.

You can share your ShopMy Page in your social media profiles or anywhere you want to earn affiliate commissions from the links on this page. It’s a great way to share your affiliate content all in one place.

3 - Reach new Creator Tiers

ShopMy offers different creator tiers, each with increasing perks as you grow on the platform.

You can move up in tiers by completing your profile, staying active, increasing monthly traffic, generating more orders, and contributing to the community.

The current tiers include:

Enthusiast
• Digital storefront
• Millions of commissionable products
• Over 50k merchant partners

Ambassador
• $10 cash bonus
• Increased visibility in brands’ search results

Trendsetter
• $50 cash bonus
• Ability to initiate chats with brands
• Ability to request gifting and discount codes
• Priority consideration for opportunities

Icon
• $100 cash bonus
• Priority recommendation to brands for opportunities

As you move up through the tiers, you unlock more visibility, cash incentives and better opportunities.

4 - Keep an eye on your performance metrics

Individually tracked affiliate links are one of my favorite parts of the ShopMy creator program.

ShopMy allows you to track affiliate links individually so you can clearly see which links are generating the most clicks and sales. You can also sort by brand or website to view performance based on clicks, sales volume, earnings, and current commission rates.

These insights are incredibly helpful as you get deeper into affiliate marketing, allowing you to focus on brands that deliver the highest return for your audience.

Once you have been creating links for about a year, you can then sort your links by performance to focus on what is doing well so you can make more money.

5 - Receive real brand opportunities via direct message

As your sales and clicks increase, you’ll advance through the creator tiers mentioned above like Enthusiast, Ambassador, Trendsetter, and Icon.

With each tier comes increased visibility in brand searches, which opens the door to real brand opportunities.

These opportunities include commission bonuses for specific campaigns, custom discount codes, and even product gifting.

Brands reach out directly through your ShopMy portal, so I recommend downloading the ShopMy app and turning on notifications so you don’t miss any messages.

And these opportunities aren’t just theoretical, I’ve personally received and participated in them.

6 - Prioritize higher-paying affiliate opportunities

Overall, many of the brands on ShopMy offer higher commission rates than other platforms. I’ve personally earned up to 20% commission through collaborations, with most commissions typically ranging between 10–15%.

Some brands even offer commission rates higher than 20%.

When it comes to choosing what products or brands to promote, I suggest leaning towards the higher paying commissions.

It’s better for both you and your audience that you make more for your work. Because the more you make in return for your efforts, the more likely you are to continue to be a resource for others.

While the commission payouts are sometimes longer than some other brand programs, the increase in pay can be worth the wait.

7 - Choose Stripe or PayPal as your Payout Method

One of the most common questions asked is how long ShopMy takes to pay.

Commission timelines vary by brand, but most brands don’t release commissions until their return window closes, typically between 60 to 90 days.

That said, ShopMy’s earnings dashboard is very transparent. You can easily see which commissions are pending, upcoming or already paid.

Once a commission moves to Next Payment or upcoming status, you can expect to receive it within the month.

ShopMy gives you the option to get paid via Stripe direct deposit or PayPal. If you select Stripe, your payout will default here even if you previously used PayPal.

If you already have a stripe account tied to an email, the ShopMy stripe account will show up as a separate business account tied to that email address.

How To Make Affiliate Income With ShopMy As A Niche Blogger

The main way to make income is through sharing affiliate links.

Once approved as a ShopMy creator, add the ShopMy SnapShop Browser Extension to your preferred web browser.

As you write about and share different products, click on the widget in your browser window to see if that brand or product is on ShopMy.

If the product or brand is on ShopMy, a window will appear with the commission rate and a quick affiliate link.

Grab the quick affiliate link shown in the window to include in your blog or in any of your social media sharing posts.

You can also create links directly in your ShopMy dashboard or in the ShopMy App. All links created will have tracking information attached to them so you can monitor their performance.

Remember to use all regulatory disclosures and when posting the affiliate links on your blog, tag the link as sponsored by wrapping it in this code:

<u><a rel=“sponsored” href="(your link goes here)" target="_blank">(your text goes here)</a></u>
