To get this deal:
Sign up for CVS ExtraCare Rewards, if you are not already a member. It’s free. It is inside the CVS Pharmacy App, in your Extracare Rewards Program’s “Deals & Rewards” section.
Before you ring up your essie purchases, scan your ExtraCare Rewards barcode or give the phone number tied to your ExtraCare account to the cashier at check-out.
On the bottom of your receipt, you will see your progress to your free essie, and it will look something like like this:

With each polish you buy the “Progress to free Essie polish Buy 4 get 5th Free” number will go up (above the number is currently three), however there can be a short lag before you see it reflected on your next receipt.
Once you hit four polishes, simply wait a few minutes after check-out and your free fifth essie coupon should load to your app. It loads for us usually around the time we’re walking out the front door.
This loyalty program is valid for 12 months and we have used this offer multiple times so far.
The loyalty program counts all essies towards your free essie - even if the essies you buy are on stacked coupons and already 32-60% OFF MSRP.
In our experience, you can also refresh the deal, to get a second free essie nail polish in the same year and once you get to your 9th free polish, you get another.
Full disclosure: we have not tried the deal beyond two rewards to see if more is available. However, the frequency of use doesn’t seem to matter - you can buy your essies in the same transaction, directly after one another or every few months to trigger the reward. The system will continue to log your rewards in your ExtraCare account until you get to 4, or 9, essie polishes, regardless.
To end, this amounts to at least two free essie polishes a year.
