OPI Samoan Sand is a neutral tan shade that is opaque in 3 coats and semi-sheer in 2 coats.

This is one of the legacy OPI shades that was released in 1993 as part of the Spring/Summer Paradise Collection. It’s also one of my favorite OPI neutrals.

Pros of this shade:

  • Warm toned neutral that goes with any outfit

  • It goes on creamy

  • Dries to the touch within minutes

  • Reminds you of the beach with the name

The OPI Samoan Sand swatches in this review are using the original formula at 3 coats.

To see the shade at 2 coats, visit our blog OPI Bubble Bath VS Samoan Sand.

OPI Samoan Sand Sheer?

Samoan Sand is sheer at 1-2 coats, at 3 coats it is more on the opaque side.

How does it compare to another OPI Favorite, Bubble Bath?

Samoan Sand is more on the tan-yellow side, and Bubble Bath is more on the warm-pink side.

Here is are swatches of Samoan Sand and Bubble Bath side-by-side so you can see:

Like many other OPI shades, you can get it in a variety of formula types!

If you love this shade, there are options for you to expand upon it. Find Samoan Sand in nail lacquer, GelColor and Dip Powder.

This is a shade to enjoy for many reasons - creamy application, the evocative name, the relaxing neutral color.

To enjoy it, lay around a bit in the sand nearest you and soak it in after you apply it.

Allow Samoan Sand to give you the very excuse you needed to relax for a bit.

For best results, pair it with the base and top coat in each respective formula: I like the OPI base and top coat, the OPI Intelli-Gel base and top coat or the OPI Dip Liquids.
