Revlon was one of the earliest nail polish brands on the market.

Started in 1932, and first called Revlac, the company was most well known for matching lipsticks and nail polishes, “lips and tips.”

Today, Revlon remains an affordable drugstore nail polish brand that stays in line with new trends and even makes really pretty holographic nail polishes

They also own two other nail polish brands - Sinful Colors and CND.

And indeed, you can still find lipsticks and nail polishes by Revlon in matching names and shades.

Now let’s get to the nail polish.

Revlon Red Nail Polish Swatches + Honest Formula Review
Revlon Red, color number 680, is one of Revlon’s signature red nail colors from their Super Lustrous Nail Enamel line (and yes, there is a lipstick line by the same name).

It’s a creamy, cherry red nail polish that goes on smoothly in two coats and dries quickly.

And in case you weren’t aware, Revlon has recently upgraded their Super Lustrous Nail Enamels.

The bottle brush has been upgraded to a flat brush with an angled tip and formula is infused with Vitamin E plus a ridge-filling complex in the color itself, to ensure smooth application.

They have also upgraded the formula to be faster drying, so while it’s not labeled as quick dry, these polishes do dry quickly.

The ridge filling complex is my favorite part of the upgrade, but I think the better brush and quick dry features are great too.

Something I have also noticed by the Super Lustrous formulas that I don’t think Revlon gives themselves enough credit for is that even before the upgrade, their formulas were relatively clean.

These new formulas are even cleaner but with extra, nail supporting ingredients. So while you wouldn’t normally think of Revlon as a “clean nail polish” brand, when reading the ingredients label, I’m always pleasantly surprised.

As for this shade, you can wear it as an anytime classic red, for Christmas Nails, Valentine’s Day Nails or 4th of July Nails. It’s versatile in that it will work any time of the year.

A classic red from a classic nail polish company is always in style and is a go-to color for special events or anytime wear.

Plus, while it gives us that nostalgic feel with the bottle shape and history, it’s not your grandmother’s formula, it’s better and it competes well with today’s nail color technology.

Who doesn’t love an old classic with upgraded parts? It’s like your favorite vintage lamp, but with new wiring - still gorgeous, but with a better glow.

Get Revlon Red on Amazon and for best results, wear it with a base and top coat.
