The Best Blue Nail Colors for Summer

In today’s post, we’re going to be talking about the best blue nail polish colors that we have shared with you on the blog and the specific shades that are great for summer.
There are many different shades of blue, and some are indeed better for the fall and winter, some I even like more for spring.
There is a blue nail polish for every season, every mood, and every reason.
There are bright blue nail colors, light blue nail colors and dark blue nail colors for summer - all of them can be cute depending on the look you are going for.
There are even blue nail colors that some might consider bridal shades, and in bridal nail polish collections, a blue nail color is often included.

I’m not sure how I feel about it, but I’ve seen it as a bridal pedicure color, and it does look pretty that way.
I’ve swatched a bunch of blue shades, and although I have not encountered all of the blue nail colors I will love yet, there are some winners that definitely have stood out.

It’s a cornflower light blue nail polish with a tiny bit of silver shimmer giving this polish an incredible sheen. I think this counts as a baby blue nail color too.

This is a new shade from the Summer 2026 Trip to the Brite Side Collection. Sky Blue’s the Limit is a sheer, aqua blue shimmer nail polish that looks like cool, sparkling water.
Essie Offbeat Chic
Off Beat Chic is from the essie odd squad collection and it is a creamy, cerulean blue nail color. I would definitely consider this a bright blue nail color.
It reminds me of a fun beach day, but in a bottle.
OPI This Color’s Making Waves
This is an aqua, blue-green shimmer nail color. Depending on how the light hits it, it’s either more green or more blue, which is why we are including it here.
It is a very mermaidian shade, that really looks like an abalone shell or a fish scale, it has an iridescent color shifting pigmentation that is just captivating.

How pretty is this cobalt blue shimmer nail color. It’s a bright, vibrant electric blue nail polish and it’s in China Glaze’s new formula.

This is another new shade from OPI. It’s a bright, creamy nautical blue nail color. It has a very coastal look and feel, so to me, it is a cheerful, beachy blue.
Essie Butler Please
Butler Please is a classic shade from Essie.
It’s creamy, bold cobalt blue that is very rich in pigmentation. If you are looking for a blue nail color that could be a summer staple, this should be one of the shades you consider.

OPI Catch a Wave of Happiness
This is a dark sheer blue cream nail polish. It’s another from the 2026 Trip to the Brite Side Collection, which had 3 amazing blue nail colors for summer inside.
What I love about this shade is that upclose, it has a jelly-like translucency, yet from a distance it looks full coverage. So it has some depth to it.
All in all, these blue nail polishes are some of the prettiest we’ve found that would work for warmer weather days at the pool, beach or simply hanging out in the back yard.
