If you’re looking for the perfect milky white gel nail polish, sheer white nails, or a soft white manicure for everyday wear, weddings, or minimalist nail looks, OPI Funny Bunny GelColor is one of the most popular choices.
OPI Funny Bunny in a gel manicure is as beautiful, if not more beautiful than the other formula types I’ve tried in this milky white nail shade.
So far, I’ve tried this color in the standard lacquer, the long wearing Infinite Shine formula, and now, we’re looking at it in gel color.
The most popular way to wear this shade is in a combo with OPI Bubble Bath, but before we dive into that again, we first need to look at this gorgeous shade by itself.

Formula, Pigmentation & Wear
This is shade number #GCH22 and it is in the Intelli-Gel formula, which is OPI’s newest gel formulation. It’s HEMA free, TPO free and more pigmented than the previous formula.
It also has a higher viscosity, so it stays where you put it, plus it’s more self leveling.
I’ve now tried 10 different shades in this formula and I have noticed the pigmentation, higher viscosity and the self leveling nature, when comparing it alongside other brands.
You can put this gel on somewhat lumpy and move onto the next nail, and by the time you look at your previous nail, it’s evened out.
Also, I’ve noticed that with the deeper pigmentation, you need less polish to get the job done. Thin coats still deliver high color payoff, and this means you get more applications per bottle.
In a standard 0.5 oz bottle, the makers say there are 80 applications and this makes sense to me.
There are some colors I’ve used a bit, and I can tell I’ve just scratched the surface in terms of how much I’ve left to go.
So you get quite a bit of formula for your money with these shades which, to me, helps with the decision on spending on each shade.
As far as shades are concerned, you do want to factor in how much you’ll use a certain color, because getting your money’s worth matters.
And OPI Funny Bunny is a shade you can get a lot of mileage out of - you can wear it on its own, as a soft French tip, or paired with a sheer pink like Bubble Bath to create a custom milky pink or blush white gel color.
Plus, white nail colors are classic neutral shades that are appropriate in every scenario. You can wear a classic white gel manicure to work or a wedding and still pull it off.
That’s why I like wearing white as a manicure so much, because if you’re on a budget, it goes with everything. You can get so much use out of it and it lasts.
I’ve achieved up to 22 days of wear with OPI GelColor - and I only took it off at that point because it had grown out, not because it was showing any signs of chipping or lifting.
Now that we’ve covered the benefits of the OPI Funny Bunny in GelColor shade and formula, let’s look at some swatches.

Is OPI Funny Bunny Gel Worth It?
If you’re looking for a classic neutral nail color you can wear for both professional nail looks and formal events, this shade is one of the best white gel polishes to consider.
It’s one of the most popular white gel nail polishes worldwide, and it delivers salon-quality results at a relatively affordable price point.
I’m on my 3rd bottle of the shade and the first 2 I purchased myself, so as a beauty editor, I’m willing to spend my own money on it more than once.
Who should buy OPI Funny Bunny GelColor?
If you’re looking for bridal or wedding nails, minimalist or “clean girl” nails, an everyday neutral manicure or a French tip base color, this shade may be worth trying.
It’s best for people looking for long lasting gel manicures who want to achieve salon quality gel nails at home. I’ve gotten up to 22 days of wear with OPI GelColor and it is a brand that is professionally used in salons, but it’s easy enough to learn how to apply it at home.
So it’s a beginner friendly gel polish in a classic white gel color that delivers a professional gel manicure.
How many coats of OPI Funny Bunny Gel do you need?
Here it is shown in 3 coats, however, you can wear it in 2 and I have - I just wanted to see how the opacity built up with 1 more coat.
I would suggest starting with 2 coats and seeing how you feel.
Depending on if your nails have ridges, how thinly your coats are applied, how sheer you want it, how much patience you have that day for another coat - these factors will determine whether you decide on a 3rd coat or not.
I’ve worn it in either 2 or 3 coats, depending on my mood and the desired appearance.
OPI Funny Bunny in the gel polish formula, and in the other formula types, is designed to be a soft, milky white nail color - so it’s not totally opaque, you will see some of your nail peek through.
This gives it a gentle, rather than bright look.
It’s very popular among nail enthusiasts, our readers and nail technicians because it’s a versatile, soft white gel polish that works for weddings, everyday wear, and minimalist nails.
Due to all these reasons, if you are looking for a reliable white gel nail polish, OPI Funny Bunny is one of the best shades you can invest in.
