Now that we’re officially entering wedding season here in the US, I figured it would be the perfect time to share a bridal nail shade I really love.
While I’ve never been married (yet — I am engaged!), I've always been drawn to bridal polish collections.
The soft, feminine finishes are right up my alley.
What I love most about bridal shades is that they give you that polished, elevated look without feeling overdone.
It’s the same reason I gravitate toward bridal makeup and especially bridal lip colors — everything is designed to look like you, just a little more refined.
Bridal lip shades are natural but enhanced, the blushes are soft and flattering, and the eye makeup is understated, polished glamour.
Bridal nail colors work the same way. You don’t have to save them for weddings — they’re perfect anytime you want a clean, elegant look.
I wear bridal nail colors all the time, quite frankly.
So let’s take a look at OPI Chiffon-d of You.
It was originally released in OPI’s 2019 Always Bare for You Collection as a bridal shade, but you definitely don’t have to wear it only for weddings.
I never have — I just genuinely love champagne pearl nail colors.
For the smoothest application:
Paint the tips of your nails first before coating the full nail.
Otherwise, the horizontal lines on your tips will show over the vertical lines in the pearlescent formulas.
Pearl polishes, and especially those that lean metallic, as this one does, always show brush strokes. You can use this to your advantage and create designs with the strokes if you want and sometimes I do.
Since this polish dries fairly quickly, working fast helps prevent any non-harmonious visible brush lines, especially near the tips.
You can also wear this shade in a single coat for a sheer pearl wash of color. I especially love it as a pedicure shade — in sunlight, it almost looks like sparkling platinum metal, very luxurious.
And practically speaking, I also have worn this shade in work settings too and received many compliments.
So it works anytime you could use a pearl and in my opinion, that could be every day if you want it to be.
For best results:
I’ve worn this shade: without any base or top coat, with no base coat and just a top coat, with just a base coat and no top coat, and also with whatever base or top coat I have and it’s always been beautiful no matter what I’ve done.
You can’t keep a great polish from looking great, and that’s what Chiffon-d of You shows us.
