Born in 1981, OPI is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year and for their spring collection, they are remixing all their most beloved shades.
What I love about this collection is that while you may notice how the parent shade’s nuances are in each color, they are all a bit different from the inspiration color.
This collection gives OPI lovers, like you and me, new colors to love that spin off of our old favorites.
I’ve been featuring OPI on the blog since it started, and it is one of my favorite brands, so it’s a brand you see a lot here.
To be fair, though, it’s one of your favorites too - when the blog first began I shared swatches of nail colors from 50-60 different brands and OPI was one of the brands that you simply loved, so we showed you more of it.
We continue to experiment with new brands, but OPI is one we keep coming back to as it is still one of my favorites and one of the most requested.
One of my favorite things about OPI is that once you fall in love with a color, you can usually expand your love into different formula types, as each color is often offered across their product lines.

Let the swatches begin:
OPI OPI’m a Bubble Bunny
We’ve all been waiting in hopeful anticipation for this one.
This is a combo of Bubble Bath and Funny Bunny, two popular shades we’ve been blending for a little while, OPI finally remixed it in one bottle.
Shown in 2 coats, it’s a cool, milky pink sheer nail color.
OPI Pompeii Pink
Shown in 2 coats this is a warmer, pinker version of Pompeii Purple, a cool pearlescent fuschia/magenta pink. It’s a warm pink pearl with a light purple glow.
OPI Bathtime Bubbly
Shown in 2 coats, Bathtime Bubbly is a soft, juicy peach with pink undertones. It’s a spin on Bubble Bath that has more opacity and pinkness, but the same beautiful warmth.
You could wear it in 1 coat as a jelly sheer and the coverage is buildable - depending on how thick you put on your coats, how many coats you do and how the polish lays on your nail, it’s a medium coverage sheer, a fully opaque candy pink or a little mix of both.
It’s such a flattering shade especially if your skin tone is on the warmer side.
OPI Strawberry Cosmo
Shown in 2 coats, Strawberry Cosmo is opaque in 1 coat but 2 coats smooths everything out nicely. It’s a twist of OPI Strawberry Margarita and I see it as the cooler version of that shade.
This bright, creamy pop of berry pink is so gorgeous especially for those rainy or overcast spring days when it really stands out.
OPI You Don’t Know Suzi
Shown in 2 coats, You Don’t Know Suzi is a remix of OPI’s You Don’t Know Jacques! It’s a taupe brown creme with purplish undertones that applies beautifully and dries quickly.
In my eyes, it’s a little lighter, a touch warmer and it has a bit less purple than the original shade.
OPI Put it in Airplane Mode
Shown in 2 coats, Put it in Airplane Mode is a remix of OPI Put it in Neutral.
It pulls much more neutral, is more opaque and has very little pink mauve tones when compared to the original; it retains the overall beige tones.
It’s a nude caramel tan that’s almost a full coverage creme. It has just a tiny bit of sheerness that peaks through, especially if you have a longer natural nail, your tips may show as mine do.
The bit of sheerness gives it a squishy, kind of jelly-like look, so it's not flat like your average creme.
During the first coat, it reminded me of essie gel couture’s of corset, but it’s more opaque than that and a little less rosy.
What I like about it is the cozy warmth, it is a perfect work friendly neutral shade. It's also great for the rainy, sweater weather days of spring, like the one I'm experiencing right now.
OPI Queens Rule
Shown in 3 coats, Queens Rule is a sunny, light peachy sheer shimmer with medium coverage. The coverage is buildable, and you could wear it in 2 coats, but I wanted to see how the color built up.
It’s a remix of Princesses Rule!, which is a pink semi-sheer with a silver shimmer. What I love about this shade is the subtle silver shimmer, which gives it a gorgeous sheen.
This shade has a great vibe to it, but it does take a tad longer to dry than the others. Give it about 5-7 minutes between coats - you’ll just have to be patient and wait.
I did this swatch the night before, photographing it in early morning sunlight to capture the best sparkle.
OPI Big Apple Energy
Shown in 2 coats, this is a remix of OPI’s Big Apple Red, an iconic red cream nail color.
Big Apple Energy is just as bold and bright, however, it also has a captivating pink and purple sparkle giving it an extra multi-dimensional glitter finish.
OPI Mod About Me
Shown in 2 coats, Mod About Me is a remix of OPI’s Mod About You, which is a pastel pink cream nail polish. Mod About Me is just as bold of a pastel, but it’s a light purple lilac or lavender hue.
It really feels like the perfect Easter nail color.
OPI Shrimp Cocktail
Coral is one of my favorite nail colors because I think oranges are such a great color for happiness and creativity, and Shrimp Cocktail may be one of my top picks from the collection for this reason alone.
Shown in 2 coats, Shrimp Cocktail is a remix of Cajun Shrimp, a beloved red coral creme nail color that’s one of the most sought after reds for the spring and summer months.
Shrimp Cocktail has the same pinkish undertones, but it’s more of an orange-leaning coral than a red-leaning coral. It reminds me of Tiger Lillies and cactus blossoms.
If you’re a big fan of orange nail colors, and also love OPI’s corals such as Aloha from OPI and I Eat Mainely Lobster, you’ll like this one too.
Shrimp Cocktail’s pink undertones really give it that extra something special, making it different from a flat orange cream.
OPI Sunny Bunny
Sheer, milky white meets butter yellow nails. Sunny Bunny is a remix of Funny Bunny and it’s for pastel yellow nail polish lovers who may appreciate a softer touch.
Shown in 2 coats, Sunny Bunny is a sheer pastel “butter” yellow nail polish.
How to apply this sheer nail polish:
Pick up a healthy bead of polish on the brush, dot it on the top of the nail and lightly bring the polish down the center, then right and left on the nail bed. Keep the brush parallel to the nail and use very light, if any, pressure.
Full coverage is not intended so expect your natural nail to peak through.
I’m fond of it - it’s a milky white nail color, but warmer, somewhere between light yellow and French Vanilla.
Plus the name is so cute - is it possible to be in a bad mood wearing something called Sunny Bunny? I’d think not!
OPI Lincoln Park After Brunch
Shown in 2 coats, this is a dark, vampy deep purple with purple, pink and red micro glitters, giving it a shimmery finish.
It’s a twist on OPI Lincoln Park After Dark, which is an iconic dark aubergine purple cream that’s almost black.
I’m really glad they included a darker shade in this collection, as pretty as it is on the fingers, it also looks great on the toes as a pedicure.
The online listings make it look more red than it really is - it’s a dark purple shimmer with some red glitters giving it a slight red flash.
Normally, I do the swatches in the order they are numbered in the set, but for this set I chose a slightly different route. I woke up each morning, went over to the collection, and chose the shade that inspired me that particular day.
All in all, this collection is lovely! I’m having a hard time finding a favorite, as they are all so pretty and for different reasons.
Which of these shades would be your top pick?
